Decision-Making Is the Greatest Strength of Leadership: Ajit Doval

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval shared important insights on leadership, youth, and India’s future development.

Addressing young participants, Ajit Doval said that while times have changed and today’s youth face a very different world, one quality remains common across generations — decision-making ability.

“I’ve forgotten my youth, and your youth has changed so much that I’m not even aware of many things. But one thing is very common in both — decision-making,” Doval said.

He expressed strong confidence in India’s future, stating that India will definitely become a developed nation at the pace and speed set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He added that even if the system runs on autopilot, India’s development journey will continue.

However, Ajit Doval emphasized that the real question lies beyond development itself. “The question is who will lead this developed India and how capable they will be,” he said.

Highlighting leadership qualities, he said that the greatest strength of a leader is the ability to make the right decisions. According to him, strong leaders take decisions on time and implement them with complete faith and conviction.

Doval urged the youth to start developing this skill early. He stated that anyone who wants to lead a developed India — whether in science, technology, security, or any other field — must build strong decision-making abilities from now.

The address focused on empowering young leaders and preparing them to take responsibility in shaping India’s future as a developed nation.
